Cabs and car rental in Guntur, with a driver.

Guntur is flat country, which makes it one of the easier places in Andhra to drive out of. The land around the city is chilli, cotton and tobacco, the Mirchi Yard here is the largest chilli market in Asia, and the roads run straight between the fields. The real climbs nearby are the hill temples and forts. Mangalagiri is one, a short run towards Vijayawada with the Panakala Narasimha temple on its hill. Kondaveedu Fort is the other, west of the city, a Reddy-era hill fort where the drive finishes and the walking begins. Inside the city, Brodipet, Arundelpet and Lakshmipuram are the central areas, and Guntur Junction is the main railway station.

Two drives define this place. North to Amaravati is the short one: the Amareswara Swamy temple, the stupa and the archaeological museum, and the Dhyana Buddha statue near the Krishna, comfortably a half-day. South to the coast is the other. Suryalanka, near Bapatla, is the nearest well-known beach, with the old Bhavanarayana temple in Bapatla town on the way. Kotappakonda towards Narasaraopet is worth the detour, especially around Sivaratri when the hill fills up. Further west, Nagarjuna Sagar and the Ethipothala falls make a long day out, and the Uppalapadu bird sanctuary is close to the city in the breeding season.

Hyderabad is about 265 km away, and Vijayawada is close enough for a same-day visit across the Krishna.

Car hire in Guntur means the car and a driver together, not self-drive. Sneha Go Cabs is based in Hyderabad and serves Guntur as part of its Andhra Pradesh and Telangana coverage. Tell us your pickup area, dates and group size on WhatsApp and we will confirm the car and the fare before you travel. A 30% advance by Razorpay confirms the booking, and the balance is paid after the trip.

Local tip — Guntur's problem is heat, not traffic. From March onwards the middle of the day is genuinely unpleasant, so the useful hours are early morning and late afternoon. Plan Amaravati as a morning trip and the coast as a start-early, stay-late day. Kondaveedu finishes with a climb on foot, so wear something you can walk in and carry water. Mangalagiri is quick enough to fold into a half-day alongside Amaravati if you get going early. Coming in by train, Guntur Junction is the simplest handover. During the chilli season, the roads around the Mirchi Yard fill with lorries, so allow extra time if your route passes it. If Vijayawada is part of the plan, remember it is close but the river crossings there are slow at peak hours. Around Sivaratri the Kotappakonda road stays busy for days, so either go with the crowd deliberately or keep clear of that week.

What kind of trip in Guntur?

Local runs around Guntur, an airport pickup, a temple trip or a long outstation drive — same fleet, same drivers, quoted differently. Tell us which on WhatsApp and the fare comes back the same day.

Local hire in Guntur

8 hours and 80 km around the city. The driver stays with you rather than dropping and leaving.

  • Amaravati and Mangalagiri

The two short runs north, easily done together in a half day, with the car waiting at each rather than you arranging a ride back from the capital site.

  • Vijayawada and Gannavaram Airport

About 52 km on NH-16 to the airport, and close enough to Vijayawada to make a day trip of it. Tell us whether you want a drop or a car for the day.

  • A hospital or clinic day in Vijayawada

Many people cross the river for specialist appointments. The car can wait through the day and bring you home rather than leaving you to find a ride in the evening.

What the fare includes

One fare, agreed first

You get one figure on WhatsApp before you travel — the kilometres at your car's rate, plus tolls, state tax and the driver allowance at what they actually cost. There is no meter running in Guntur traffic, and nothing appears at the end that you had not already agreed.

Straight to the team

One number reaches the people running the trip — no app to install and no account to create.

Renting a car in Guntur with a driver

Every car on this page comes with an experienced local driver. We do not do self-drive, and most of what that removes is paperwork — there is no driving licence to hand over and no car to bring back by a deadline. The per-km rate already carries the car & fuel, a professional driver. You pay for the kilometres, on the terms confirmed with your fare.

It changes the day as much as the paperwork. The driver stays with the car while you are inside, so nobody is circling Guntur for parking or moving the car every hour. On a long run he has driven the road before — which counts for most on the stretches where you would otherwise be navigating and driving at the same time.

Cabs and car rental in Guntur — FAQs

Is Amaravati worth a half-day from Guntur?

Easily. The Amareswara Swamy temple, the stupa and the archaeological museum, and the Dhyana Buddha statue all sit close together near the Krishna. Go in the morning, because there is very little shade once the day heats up.

Which beach do people go to from Guntur?

Suryalanka, near Bapatla, is the usual choice. It is flat driving through farm country, and Bapatla's Bhavanarayana temple can be added on the way. Start early and stay into the evening rather than trying to fit it into a couple of hours.

Do you pick up from Guntur Railway Station?

Yes. Guntur Railway Station, or Guntur Junction as the boards call it, is a listed pickup. Send the train number and which exit you will come out of when you book. Brodipet and Amaravati Road are the other listed points, and a home address works the same way.

Is this car hire in Guntur, or a cab with a driver?

A cab with a driver. There is no licence to hand over and nobody has to bring the car back by a deadline. If you are comparing us against a self-drive rental in Guntur, that is the difference: you are hiring the car and the person who drives it, and the driver stays with the car while you are inside.

What does a car rental in Guntur cost?

Outstation trips are charged per kilometre: ₹12 for a Swift Dzire, ₹14 for an Ertiga, ₹18 for an Innova and ₹24 for a Tempo Traveller, with a minimum of 300 km a day on a round trip. Tolls, state tax and the driver allowance are billed on top, and you get the total on WhatsApp before you travel. Local hire inside Guntur is an 8 hr / 80 km package. A 30% advance by Razorpay confirms the booking, and the balance is paid after the trip.

Can we fit Kondaveedu Fort and Mangalagiri into the same day?

Yes, if you start early. Mangalagiri is a short run towards Vijayawada and does not take long. Kondaveedu is west of the city and ends with a climb on foot, so keep the harder one for the cooler part of the morning and carry water for it.

Is there a cab near me in Guntur?

You do not need one nearby — the car comes to you. We are not a stand you walk to or a street taxi you flag down: you send an address on WhatsApp and the driver arrives there, anywhere in Guntur — including Brodipet, Arundelpet, Mirchi Yard and the areas around them. The useful thing to send is a landmark rather than a pin: the gate, the shop below, the temple on the corner. That is how the driver actually finds you, and it is faster than a map reference on a lane that has no name.

How do I tell you where to pick me up in Guntur?

A landmark and a phone number is enough. Guntur Railway Station, Brodipet, Amaravati Road and similar spots are the ones drivers know without asking — but a home address works the same way. If the lane is narrow or the gate is hard to spot, say so when you book and the driver will call as he turns in rather than leaving you to find the car.

Is this a cab service, a taxi, car rental, or car hire?

All of those names describe what we do, and around here the everyday one is "car travels" — it is what most operators in Guntur are actually called, and what people say when they mean a car with a driver rather than a self-drive rental. Listings and search results tend to say taxi, car rental or car hire. The important part is what it is not — it is not self-drive, and it is not a metered street taxi. Every car comes with an experienced local driver, so you are hiring the car and the person driving it together, for one fare agreed before the trip rather than a meter that keeps running in traffic.
